For any number of reasons unique to your circumstances, you may be thinking, “I need a job”. Are you currently working? If so, are you happy in your job? Do you consider your situation to be a career, a profession that you expect to pursue for some time, perhaps for many years? Or are you just marking time, doing something to make a paycheck? And are you feeling miserable all the while?

You might consider your job to be exciting, perhaps even challenging, but is it something you see yourself doing long term? Can you say with all honesty that you look forward to going to work every single day? Even most days?

Perhaps you are on the cusp of landing a new job. Is this the job of your dreams? The one you’ve prepared yourself for through all manner of education and training effort? That “dream” job that most of us long for but only a vanishingly small number of us ever land?

Well, if your answer is YES, count yourself one of the lucky ones. Most of us never find that ideal job, the one that satisfies, that actualizes, that completely and utterly completes us. No, it’s not like that for the majority. If we’re lucky, in most cases, we find a job that we can tolerate.

But I’m betting you answered NO. In all likelihood, you are not now enjoying the luxury of a dream job!

I Need A Job ASAP, But I Don’t Know What I Want To Be When I Grow Up!

First of all, doesn’t be embarrassed. This point is critical. You are not alone. Consider yourself to be just one of the millions of people that grow up without a clear idea of what career they want to pursue.

Start thinking about this state of mind as the norm, because it is. Take my word for it: even as adults, most of us don’t have a clue about what we want to be when we grow up! Which is scary when you think about it.

But how can you change that situation? How can you rise above the norm, find the direction that’s best for you, and ultimately discover your dream career? Yes, you may be shouting to yourself: “I need a job now”.

You’re anxious, and you’re impatient, you want a direction, an answer. And you want it right now! That is perfectly understandable. So, instead of keeping you in suspense, I’ll come right out and tell you. The answer is this: you need to take a career assessment test!

You may never have considered that there might be a systematic method of teasing out those unique qualities within yourself that make you more of a candidate for certain types of employment and less of a candidate for others.

But there is such a method. And if you’ll decide to sacrifice a small amount of time to take a career assessment test, I believe you’ll be surprised and pleased to discover the jobs, your circumstances, your upbringing, and your personality have prepared you to do.

I recommend you take a few minutes to check out the following article from the US News and World Report website. It provides some great insights into the benefits of a career test.

I Need A Job ASAP – Why Should I Take A Career Test Before Looking For a Job?

The better question is, given your current situation (“I have no job,” or “I need a job,” or “I want to change my job”), what course of action do you think has the best chance of landing you in a better situation than your current one? Playing the “grass is always greener on the other side” game, and jumping out of the frying pan and into the fire?

Or playing it smart and gaining some critical insights into the person that you are, to get a strong understanding of just what jobs you’re inwardly, perhaps unknowingly, designed to do? I would take the second option every day and twice on Sundays! I’m going to assume you’re smart enough to do the same. So, let’s discuss the specifics. Just what kinds of insights can a career test provide?

It’s ok not to rush. Give yourself some time to take a career assessment test. You’ll find the time well spent. You may owe your current job situation to rushing in instead of walking carefully, considerately, into an opportunity with the confidence that comes from prior knowledge. Wouldn’t you like to stride into your next opportunity knowing that your talents, abilities, and experiences have prepared you for that position?

A good career test can provide that kind of background. So, take the time to learn something about yourself, and use that knowledge to pave the way to your next, better career. Yes, you may say, “I need a job now”, but don’t get ahead of yourself. Make your next move with insight and knowledge!

BONUS: Take our free Career Test. This test is simple and will help you find a dream job.

It’s ok to be you. It’s ok to like some jobs, to dislike others, or to be undecided. Those are honest reactions when you must choose between a range of tasks or job choices from the real world. But understand that a career test should make the process of evaluating your likes and dislikes into a systematic, scientific procedure.

And it’s an advantage that can take the place of random guesses and throwing darts at the wall, hoping for one to stick. Your interests are unique to you, but a well-thought-of assessment test can connect those interests and inclinations to real-world opportunities.

There are more jobs than you can imagine. If you haven’t made a special effort to uncover the riches of countless job opportunities that are out there, you’ll be amazed at the range and depth of available careers, the vast majority of which you’ve never heard of, much less considered.

And as much as you might believe that there’s only one real dream job out there for you, the truth is that there are likely hundreds of such ideal jobs. The world of work is a place full of riches, and there’s plenty to go around.

You need to know that those riches exist. Know that, and half the battle for your best place in this world is within your grasp. A proper career test can show you a wealth of jobs that are suited to you, to the person that you are.

You may say, “I Need A Job ASAP,” but realize that you’ll need to be a little patient because you’ll need to spend some time reviewing the opportunities you’ll uncover. But that’s a good thing! There Is A Way Forward

Don’t wallow in frustration! Don’t merely cry, “I need a job”. Don’t lament your unfortunate situation and assume that your “dream job” is a “pipe dream”. Take a career assessment test.

Learn from it. And apply what you learn to your job search. With just a little effort used in the right direction, your “dream job” can be yours sooner than you think.
