Congratulations! You are about to leap from being a college student to a graduate. You spent sleepless nights studying, made life-long friends, and bought the cap and gown you’ve heard about since childhood. To conclude the whole college experience, it is now time for you to find someone who will hire you for all your efforts.

You might be saying, this is easy enough. As a University of Florida student, you have access to the UF Career Showcase which happens to be the biggest career fair in the whole Southeast United States. You also have family and friends that are encouraging you every step of the way. With classes taken in many subjects and an internship or two under your belt, you have everything planned out. But as you are leaving one of your finals, you suddenly ask yourself, “what do I even want to do?”

Like deciding if you want to attend college, picking a career is one of the first major decisions we will make in this life. Although the modern era has provided us with opportunities to pick and choose paths at any age, this decision is not one we should take lightly.

If you have any doubts about what you want to do, I encourage you to take my career aptitude test. As a certified career coach, I specialize in people. After interacting with people in 30 countries, I know one thing or two about personalities. Using this knowledge, I tailored this test to make sure you receive an honest answer about what career path you should consider. Even if you already know you want to be a doctor, I still encourage you to try your hand at this test because the results might surprise you. Besides, the test is 100% free, so there is no risk for you to try it.

Now I’m going to stop rambling and get to the gist. Here are six reasons why taking my career aptitude test will be beneficial for finding you a career you love and make you ready to fearlessly (or more confidently) talk to alumni and potential employers at the UF Career Showcase.

1. The Test Will Exposes You To Careers That Will Suit Your Personality

Personality seems like an obvious factor when it comes to determining any move we make in life, but this is a fact many of us forget. Even though we can generally agree “Follow Your Heart”. It is not the best piece of advice, knowing about yourself can save you much grief when it comes to your professional life.

Think about this in simple terms. If socializing is your life, would you rather go to a house party or chill at home watching Netflix? When you were a kid, would you color inside the lines, or were you the rebel that scribbled all over the page? Picking a career involves the same mindset.

Like CNN says, you want a career that “complements your character, not conflicts with it”. If you loathe the idea of being the center-of-attention, you probably won’t want to dabble with a career in public relations.

Let’s simplify this further. Do you like the idea of wearing a suit? Do you even want to leave your house to go to work? How about singing (beyond the shower)? My free career aptitude test will help you match possible career choices based on how you perceive and interact with the world around you. This means that by being honest with yourself, you can easily be matched with a few careers out of about 1,000 career choices this test is embedded with. In other words, the test will break your personality down by six characteristics. The nature of these characteristics will then match you to suitable careers for you to think about as you prepare for Career Showcase UF.

Even if you don’t have it all figured out (most of us don’t), you will have a good idea where to begin.

2. You Will Be Able To Tell The Difference Between Your Interests And Your Ambitions

At the end of the day, ambition goes past interest. Just because you find something interesting, don’t mean you are passionate about it. Think about how many years you were in a school band. Did this encourage you to pursue a music degree? Maybe you know about every game Tom Brady has won, but you can’t seem to care about joining a football team or becoming a sports commentator.

If you take a few minutes to try my career aptitude test, you will be able to see what you actually want to do versus what sounds interesting to you. Remember, this is about the real you. Think about how you want to live your life. After all, the average life expectancy in the U.S. is from 77 to 79 years, and we spend about 30 to 40 years in the workforce. You don’t want to waste it doing something that makes you cringe. You don’t want to be always job-hopping either.

So, if you want to do a little soul-searching before you show up to the UF Career Showcase, my career aptitude test can help you do just that.

3. Taking The Career Aptitude Test Can Also Help You See If You Can Commit To A Career

Yes, I know this is a touchy subject, but everything has limitations. And I do not mean just physical ones. It can be factors like your morals or future goals. For many of us, the limitation might merely be your finances.

Before I go further, I want you to make money the last factor you consider. Instead, let’s think about your personal views again. Are you against animal cruelty? Then an animal tester is most likely not the career for you. When you are given results from my career aptitude test, you will be shown a list of careers that are associated with the personality types you identify with. It is up to you, however, to determine which careers you want to eliminate. This concept also applies to your future goals. Do you dream of being a worldwide traveler? Then you do not need a career that requires you to be stuck to a physical office location for 20 years.

Once you successfully answer these questions, now consider the money factor. Maybe you want to be a surgeon, but you do not want to pay a hefty graduate school tab. It is one thing to have an interest in a career, but it is another thing to have the tools to pursue it. Taking this career aptitude test will help you realize this. As a bonus, you will not waste your time walking up to an investment bank’s table at Career Showcase UF if you know you do not agree with the culture behind the investment industry.

4. The Test Will Help You Determine If There Are Any Opportunities At The UF Career Showcase Fair

As time changes, some industries will grow and some will disappear. Since the camera was invented, for example, portrait painting has nearly become extinct (unless we are wandering around an amusement park).

I also want to point out this test will not provide you with all of the answers: it is just the beginning. As Forbes puts it, “a career assessment isn’t a shortcut, it’s a tool. It’s up to you to use it”. After you know what you want to pursue, it is up to you to go to sites like and see the forecasts for a particular industry yourself. If your chosen career is looking bright, pat yourself on the back and go on to the next point in this article. If not, you still have the opportunity to return to the results of the test and see if you can find a similar career path to follow. Whatever you discover, you still will learn a valuable lesson from the test.

5. Based On The Results, You Can Research What Tools You Need To Break Into The Field (And Who To Network With At The UF Career Showcase)

In the words of any teacher, “knowledge is power”! My test will give you an idea about what career you can pursue, but only you can make yourself knowledgeable about your chosen industry. Let’s say your career aptitude test results say you are leaning towards a career in IT. You will know you need to have at least a Computer Science degree or certification in a particular coding language.

Because of this, you start to research what companies you would like to work for. If you stumble on IMB’s website, learn about the company’s history, and see they want certification in Microsoft SQL. With this newfound knowledge, you can go to Career Showcase UF, approach the IBM team, impress them with your knowledge, and you see where you are going with this.

NOTE: Start your path to find a dream job. Take our Career Aptitude Test. This simple test takes only 15 minutes.

6. You Will Have More Confidence At The UF Career Showcase And See Where Life Will Take You

Confidence is what we all strive for, but few of us ever gain it. Ultimately, this the key to landing any successful and joyful career. You cannot have confidence without first having direction. Although I cannot guarantee you full confidence, I can help you make sure you are confident in what career path you want to follow. After you take my career aptitude test (and put power into your own hands about your destiny), you will be ready to wow potential employers such as KPMG, InfoTech, and PWC at the UF Career Showcase and beyond.

How My Career Test Will Help You Choose The Career You Love

My test is simple. You will be honing a potential career without thinking about it. When you are done, you will be emailed results so you can decide YOUR next steps (these results will be there even if you get stuck five years from now). If you need a little more convincing, my simple career aptitude test scored an average of 4.5 out of 5 stars based off over 400 participants. So, what are you waiting for?
